In the industry, most of us are familiar with the term "fast money". Money does come quickly and at times we are grossing large sums that would take weeks, if not months to earn in the civilian world in just a few days.

That's all well and good, but what really makes the money work for you is knowing how to budget and save it accordingly to your needs. In addition, living below your means is a way to ensure that you've always got extra money for an emergency.

In this post, I'll be sharing with you how I created my budget, why it's important, what quarterly taxes are and who owes them, as well as info on saving for slow seasons or emergencies. 

When most people think of strippers, the last thing they imagine is a person who is introverted in everyday life, and often even in the club, too.

It would appear that all strippers are the life of the party 24/7. They're always in big groups and crowds, going out to bars and clubs and showing up at the after parties consistently.

While this may be typical and normal for some, it definitely is far from the truth for every single stripper. Many of us are very introverted, preferring our alone time over company or partying when we're not working.

But wait, aren't strippers supposed to be total party girls? Aren't we all super outgoing, extroverted and over-the-top? Again, while it may be this way for some, not all of us have this kind of personality.

It may come as a big surprise, but even the most introverted strippers can find their place in the clubs and make their personality traits work in their favor when it comes to being successful!

Stripping, for those who are unaware, is much more than just, "shake your ass and make 10K". 

The vast majority of people in the civilian world truly have no idea how much goes into being a successful stripper on a daily basis in the club. The hustle starts the moment you walk through the door. If you're not thinking money, chances are you're losing money.

However, if you've read any of my other posts, you already know that coming across as strictly money hungry in a super abrasive way can actually hinder your sales and nightly take home.

So, what does a successful shift look like? One where your time isn't wasted, you get to the bag, and you build relationships with customers that keep them spending more and coming back. It's a delicate balancing act and getting it right takes a lot of finesse and calculated actions that change depending on the customer in front of you at any given moment. We've all been there, a rough month with more bad news than we want, big expenses needing to be paid, rent coming up and, for me this April, loss of a major income source.

It can feel devastating and confusing when things continually seem to be going sideways and you're constantly stuck in a state of fight or flight just trying to figure out what your next best move should be.

Feeling drained, lost, defeated and exhausted is something we all experience unfortunately, whether you're a sex worker or not. However, as a sex worker, with no guaranteed income, the pressure of bad months can feel especially crushing and downright terrifying.

Sometimes, we may even feel like our magick is gone - we're missing our spark and our unique talents and characteristics that keep us paid and well-liked. 

I'm here to tell you, though I felt I was going to fail and fall on my next shift - when I began to trust in my magick and the magick of the universe; it changed everything.

If you're here, you've probably read my previous post about my personal sobriety story as a stripper and some tips + tricks that helped me maintain my sobriety.

Now, I want to dive into what becoming sober from alcohol looked like for me in the club and how it shaped the last year of my dancing career, where I want to go from here, and some additional tips, suggestions, and insights that I've gained.

The phrase "sober stripper" probably sounds pretty oxymoronic to many of you reading this. 

We're basically professional partiers, right? How could someone who makes their living by partying all night and into the small hours of the morning maintain sobriety? Furthermore, why would they want to?

It's no secret that this isn't an easy job. The hours are long and unconventional. The customers can be pushy, disrespectful, irritating and downright disgusting. Taking the edge off of these not-so-nice interactions can feel like the only possible way to maintain your sanity during your time on the floor. 

Is it even possible to be a successful stripper while simultaneously maintaining your sobriety? 

I'm here to tell you from firsthand experience that yes, it is absolutely possible to be an excellent, interesting and successful stripper - completely sober. 

In fact, you might find that you outperform your intoxicated self!

In this mini-series, I am going to be detailing my personal experiences, a lot of the positives of sobriety in the club, tips & tricks for staying sober at work, and I also will be sharing ways you can engage in harm reduction if you do choose to drink or use other substances at work. I'm not here to judge anyone or force sobriety, I simply want to educate and do my part to help in keeping my community safe.

In the industry, it's not uncommon to hear the question "why did you decide to start sex work?" or "why are you still a sex worker?" 

Sometimes, these types of questions come from a place of genuine interest, from someone who is completely unfamiliar with the industry. Other times, it comes across with the air of judgment and distain. 

While I definitely don't love the way some people ask and act toward sex workers, they're allowed their reasons to ask, just like we're allowed our reasons to partake in sex work.

Today I'm coming to you with a different kind of post from what I'm normally talking about.

It's important for me to share my personal experiences and choices, and the things that have brought me to where I stand today. 

So, why did I quit OF? Isn't that like throwing out a ton of money? Wasn't that "easier" than stripping? Didn't that feel safer and less intense than in-person work? 

Let's discuss it, and I'll tell you what my journey was like and why I decided to stop in 2025.

If you've been in the industry for any length of time, chances are you know that from time to time, you have to use different approaches to make your money.

For many, that seems like a very daunting task, and for good reason! Switching up your hustle style isn't easy, but sometimes it's necessary.

Let's discuss some ways you can challenge yourself in those moments when your typical hustle just isn't doing it for you!

I know the idea of paying taxes as a sex worker might seem like a ridiculous and daunting task. It may seem intimidating to keep your income and expenses straight or it may feel like a completely idiotic move to involve the IRS with your SW-earned cash... but there are some positive and (unfortunately) necessary reasons to file your taxes every year.

I'd like to give you some background on what taxes can look like as a sex worker, and how you can begin your tax journey, even if it seems scary or flat out stupid. Do you have to follow any of this advice? No, of course not. However, for those who are concerned or curious, I'm going to do my best to provide as much easily understandable information as I can on the topic of spicy taxes!

Please remember, I am NOT a tax expert, accountant, or financial advisor. I will always recommend meeting with a certified accountant to discuss your exact financial situation, your tax time plan, your deductions, quarterly payments and how to properly file with state and federal agencies at tax time.

We all know imposter syndrome exists in many aspects of life from jobs to relationships.

While strippers may often exude intense levels of confidence on the floor, many can also be struggling with experiencing imposter syndrome and wondering if they even belong in the club at all.

So, why might strippers experience imposter syndrome? Are the causes/reasons similar to those people deal with in civilian jobs? How can we focus on decreasing the detrimental effects of imposter syndrome on our lives and work as strippers?

Now that we know some of the excellent aspects there often are during night shifts, let's see what some of the latter characteristics might be.

From a high volume of girls to the very out of whack sleep schedule, there are plenty of reasons why night shift may be something that isn't for you all the time. 

Read on to find out some reasons why nightshift isn't always my preferred shift.

Nightshifts in the strip club can be amazing for a variety of reasons! For some, scheduling possibilities of late evening to early morning are a huge plus.

For others, the energy and fast paced environment bring the stimulation and excitement they need to do well, enjoy their work, and hit their goals.

Sometimes that is exactly how a bad shift at the club will feel... especially when it's a slow ass dayshift.

Yes, days can be awesome for a variety of reasons, but believe me when I tell you, they can and do most certainly have their pitfalls at times.

Along with considering some of the positives I mentioned in my last blog which you can read here, I want to be fully transparent and honest with you by also discussing some of the less desirable aspects of days at the club that I have seen and experienced during my career as a stripper. 

Believe it or not, yes, there actually are clubs that offer dayshift hours!

A lot of people tend to assume that it's only a more "undesirable" type of dancer that can be found working this shift, but that is far, far from the truth!

Different shifts work for different people. So, what's a dayshift like? Can it really be worth it?

The short answer is, yes! Much like any sales job, if you can find your niche, selling style, and connect well with your customers, you can sell. Let's find out some of the positive aspects of adding a dayshift to your schedule as a stripper.

We've all been there, someone at work has just said something totally out of pocket to us and unfortunately, now it's in our head and stressing us out.

Why do people do this? Why do they say hurtful things that seem to get in the way of our good mood at work?

How do we reframe these unkind statements and spin them into something positive?

Working at the club can take the energy right out of you in more ways than one.

Having a calming, relaxing and safe environment to unwind in after a shift is crucial to your mental, physical and emotional wellbeing as a dancer.

A pre-work routine is a great way to get into your stripper persona and hype yourself up before getting to the club & going on the floor.

Whether it's detailed or something you loosely follow, a routine will be a helpful tool for transforming yourself into a bag-getting baddie!

It's no secret that positive thoughts are a key to success!

Implementing positive affirmations into your daily routines both in and out of the club is an excellent way to stay motivated, bring good energy to yourself and maximize your potential.
